Power-Up Families! Walking Program
Families of all ages are invited to join Sarasota Memorial HealthSquare’s free mall-walking & wellness program every Saturday through March 8, at Westfield Sarasota Square.

Walks begin at 9:30 am, followed by wellness talks at 10 am (talk starts at 9:30 am March 8). Also visit HealthSquare for a free presentation 10-11 am March 13 on “Choosing the Right Provider."

Pulmonary Rehab Education Series
Sarasota Memorial's Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation team will celebrate Pulmonary Rehab Week with a free education series March 10-14.

Activities and events include physician lectures, pulmonary risk assessments (heart rate and blood pressure checks, oxygen saturations, Alpha-1 screening) and nutrition counseling.

Spring Break Fitness & Fun
Sarasota Memorial HealthFit’s Spring Kids Camp is ready to brighten kids’ days with healthy, safe and fun kid-style fitness activities.

Sign up for one day or one week. All campers receive a FREE hour of group personal training daily with one of our HealthFit certified trainers, while also enjoying swimming, wiffleball, basketball, dodgeball, soccer, and kickball.

Camp fees include lunch and snack daily. Early drop off and after camp pick up also available.

Footnotes – Walk and Talk Book Club
Join Sarasota Memorial health experts at HealthSquare in Westfield Sarasota Square mall for a walk to the Gulf Gate Library and this month’s Book Club feature “Water for Elephants” with a discussion on aging led by Sarasota Memorial Geriatric Nurse Karen Reynolds, 1-2:30 pm Friday, March 14.

Next month’s club meeting is April 8, 10:45 am-noon and will feature the book, “Whole: Rethinking the Science of Nutrition,” by T. Colin Campbell and a discussion led by Sarasota Memorial Exercise Physiologist/Cardiopulmonary Therapist Jill Edwards, MS.

Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation will host OZ+YOU, a fundraising event featuring television personality Mehmet Oz, MD.

The popular cardiothoracic surgeon from Columbia University/New York-Presbyterian Hospital will present “Women’s Health: Prevention of Cardiac Disease with Proper Nutrition,” at 2:15 pm Friday, March 28, in the Hyatt Sarasota Ballroom, 1000 Boulevard of the Arts.
