Sarasota Memorial offers $30 flu shots (or we can bill Medicare) at our five urgent care centers in Sarasota, Venice and Manatee. Pneumonia vaccines also are available.

The centers are open 8 am - 8 pm daily, including most holidays. No appointments necessary.

Dr. Ornish’s Program for Reversing Heart Disease
Sarasota Memorial is pleased to introduce the Ornish Reversal Program, the first Medicare-covered program proven to reverse heart disease without medications or surgery.

Participants enroll in a 9-week program that helps them adopt a healthy lifestyle based on four key program elements – a low-fat, whole foods, plant-based diet; at least 30 minutes of exercise each day; stress management techniques; and support.

Cardiac Summit
Sarasota Memorial’s 4th Annual Cardiac Summit will be held 7 am-3 pm Saturday, Feb. 13, in Sarasota Memorial Hospital’s first floor auditorium, 1700 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota. The summit offers physician lectures on the latest advances in cardiac care available in Southwest Florida.

Although it is a medical education event, it is free and open to the public. Continuing education credits are available for physicians, nurses and qualified health professionals.

Grand Rounds
Join Sarasota Memorial physicians and clinical staff 8-9 am Friday, Jan. 15, for a special Grand Rounds in Sarasota Memorial’s first floor auditorium, 1700 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota.

Grand Rounds is a medical education teaching series for clinical hospital staff and not generally open to the public; however, due to the community interest in this topic, the session is free and open to the public. Neurologist Alan Grindal, of Sarasota Memorial’s Memory Disorders Clinic, will discuss the many ways people get concussions, as well as treatment and prevention strategies.
